About Wael Kfoury
Wael Kfoury is a Lebanese singer, musician, songwriter, and actor. He studied solfège at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik and is considered one of the most popular figures in Arabic music. Wael’s first attempt at singing was in 1990s on the famous LBC talent show, “Studio Al Fan”, where he won the title of best singer. His first record deal was with Music Box and his first hit was the song “Ma Wa’adtak Binjoom El Lail”, quickly followed by “Shafouha Wa Saro Ye’olou”. Wael released several successful albums, most notable of which are “Hekayet Aasheq” and “Sa’alouni”. Wael’s albums include “Bihinn” and “Bhebak Ana Ktir” in 2006, “Wael Kfoury” in 2011, “Chebbak Al Hob” in 2011, “Shayef Al Qamar” 2011, “Ya Dale Ya Rohi” 2012, “Baatereflek” 2012, “Wael Kfoury 2012”, “Wael” 2014, “Wael 2015”, “W.” 2017, and “The Boss” 2020. Wael made his legendary comeback in 2002 with a new album called “Omri Kello”. He produced “Arreb Layeh” just two years later, proving his diversity and range as an artist. Wael then released one of his most successful songs, a pan-Arab world hit single called “Bhebbak Ana Ktir”. His romantic songs have made him a Lebanese iconic over his 25-year career. He announced his cooperation with LG Electronics to search for future music stars in February of 2009. Wael also launched a tennis tournament called “Kfoury First In” that runs under his patronage in August 2011. Wael has performed in North America, Australia, Europe, and the majority of the Arab World. He also participated in the Jericho International Festival in Jordan. The Gulf publications ranked him as the best singer in 1996, and he was named as the best singer by the Lions Club in 1997. He was given the Murex Award for Best Arab Singer in 2000 and Best Lebanese Artist in 2001 by audience vote. His song “My whole life” was named “Best Lebanese Song” from Sawt Al-Ghad Radio 2003, and he was given the Murex Award for the best Lebanese Song and Best Singer in 2003. Wael also earned Murex Awards for Best Lebanese Singer and Best Clip in 2004 for his song “Karb Li”. He also won the Murex Award for Best Lebanese Singer 2006, Golden Lion Award from the Cairo Festival in Egypt for Best Clip “Karb Lee”, Golden Murex Award in 2010 for Best Lebanese Song “Shu Eimet Lnazra, and two Murex Awards for the best Lebanese singer and the best song “Ya Dly Ya Rohi” in 2012. Wael’s song “Downtown” was also chosen by the audience as the best series theme for 2021 at the ET Awards 2021. Wael Kfoury was also nominated for the “Best Artist” awards at the Joy Awards 2022.
